Hello everyone,
Our main text is found in 2 Corinthians 7:8-11.
The apostle Paul mentions to the Corinthians about their remorse - the letter (1 Corinthians) made them corrected. The Corinthians felt sorry and had convictions, they cried, sorrowed and repented from their sins.
It starts off with:
1) Remorse
Sin offends God:
-We need to check on ourselves if the remorse is still there, else the conscience gets seared and numb
-God is looking at the contrite, broken heart: crying with sorrow and repented hearts instead of dry-eyed, cold-hearted hearts
Sin is a bad testimony:
-Instead of being remorseful, the people in Corinth are puffed up with their sins
-The apostle Paul rebukes them because of their identity in Jesus Christ
2) Repentance - changes your ways
Cease to do evil, learn to do well
3) Retribution/Revenge
The people in Corinth not just felt bad repented from their sins and turned their ways and payback from their sins by having zeal and going the extra mile to make up for the wrong done
They had indignation, where they were angry at themselves when they sinned
Please listen to this message and I pray that this message will stir up the hearts. God bless and have a great day.
